Bhubaneswar: In a major relief for students affected by the alleged discrepancies in publication of Class XII board examinations, the CBSE on Thursday decided to extend the deadline for re-evaluation of answer sheets by a week.
The development came after a four-member delegation of Parents Association met Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar at New Delhi.
Moreover, the CBSE has also agreed to withdraw writ application against re-revaluation filed at Orissa High Court tomorrow, informed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who also accompanied the Parents Association delegation to the meeting.

“After the intervention of Union HRD Minister, CBSE agreed to extend the deadline for re-evaluation by one week for 9000 affected students. CBSE has also agreed to withdraw writ application tomorrow in Odisha High Court & abide by the directions of Hon'ble High court in future,” said Pradhan in a tweet.
The Parents Association has welcomed the decision of the CBSE to withdraw its appeal petition as the students can now get photocopy of their answer copies.
“Not only 9,000, any student can apply for re-evaluation after getting the photocopy of answer sheet and necessary orders from High Court,” said Parents Association President, Sudharshan Das.
Das further informed that CBSE has also been directed to refund the application fee to students whose marks would increase after the re-evaluation process.
Besides, the association also discussed the issue of waiver of re-evaluation fee and relaxation of norms for admission of students affected results fiasco with Prakash Javadekar.
