Bhubaneswar: The protest against discrepancies in CBSE results for Class 12 has intensified after police on Tuesday evening detained agitating parents and students who have begun a 'fast unto death' today demanding revaluation of the results. The protesters have said they will continue the stir till the issue is resolved.
Hundreds of agitating parents and students were detained by police soon after a student tried self immolation over the results.

Later, the parents said they will continue their protest even if they are jailed. The stir has intensified since there has been no outcome even though Parents Association had set a June 6 deadline for officials to rectify the discrepancies in results.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had on May 30 sought intervention of Union HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar in the alleged discrepancies in the publication of CBSE class 12 results.
Two officials from CBSE, New Delhi had discussed the modalities with the officials here and had assured to resolve the issue in 15 days.
