Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Odisha Crime Branch today filed the preliminary charge sheet against the Oscar chit fund company in the special designated court here.
The investigating agency named the company chief Prabhas Rout, director Muna Patra and six others in the 200 pages charge sheet.
The supplementary charge sheet will mention about the link of Odia cine industry with the ponzi firm, Crime Branch special DG BK Sharma said. The builders' link with the OSCAR may also feature in the next charge sheet.
The probe team has also written to the Finance department for confiscation of company properties worth Rs 40 core. The properties include both movable and immovable.
A special team of Crime Branch had arrested the company chief Prabhas Rout from Delhi in June. Rout was residing in a temple Delhi’s Hauz Khas area with fictitious name and has invested money in film productions. He has produced around four Odia movies. Rout was also into real estate and infrastructure business.
Investigation has revealed that the company had opened 58 branch offices in Gujarat and collected over Rs 100 crore from the people, a majority of them Odias.
