Casting couch: Cops record statement of Upasana under Sec 161

Bhubaneswar: A day after actress Upsana Mohanty lodged a complaint at the Laxmisagar police station against film producer Rajesh Pati accusing him of attempting casting couch on her, the Commissionerate Police today recorded statement of the actress under Section 161 of the CrPC.

The statement of Upasana was recorded at the Laxmisagar police station.

Earlier in the day, the police registered a case against Pati under Sec 506 of IPC on charges of attempt to murder and Sec 509 of IPC for making an indecent proposal.

Notably, Pati had alleged whenever he spoke to Upasana to get his money back, the actress had threatened to implicate him in a false case of casting couch.

Upasana hit back by filing a case against him for attempting casting couch on her.
