Cuttack: A cancer patient allegedly hanged himself to death in a private nursing home at Ranihaat here today. The deceased has been identified as Rangadhar Baiti of Tihidi in Bhadrak district.
Rangadhar, a driver by profession, had been undergoing treatment for cancer for a long time, informed the hospital staff who found him hanging from a ceiling fan this morning. On receiving information, the Manglabag police reached and recovered a suicide note from the spot in which the deceased had held himself responsible for his death.
Though the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he committed suicide after losing hope of his recovery.
His body has been sent for post-mortem, sources said.
