Burla: The mystery behind the murder of a youth, working at the house of a contractor Ashok Singh, in Contractor Colony here was solved by Sambalpur police today.
Investigations revealed that the youth Debraj was murdered by the son and daughter-in-law of Ashok.
As per police reports, robbery appeared to be the motive behind the crime. Police arrested the accused Karan Singh and his wife Saurjit Kaur and seized Rs 75,000, a gold ring and one mobile phone from their possession.
The accused son and daughter-in-law of Ashok have confessed to their crime, informed Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora in a press meet.
Earlier on August 29, Debraj had tried to stop Karan Singh and his wife Saurjit Kaur while stealing money and jewellery from the house in absence of Ashok. However, they murdered him in fear of getting caught.
