Bodies of 2 drowned engineering students recovered

Ganjam: Bodies of two engineering students who drowned while taking bath at Sonepur beach here on Monday morning were recovered today.

Personnel of Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) unit which undertook the rescue operations traced the bodies after a day of intensive search operation at the beach.

The youths have been identified as Pradeep Mohanty of Aska and Ajay Suasia of Dharakote. Both were students of a Chennai-based engineering college.

According to information, both the deceased along with four other friends had gone to the beach on Monday morning to celebrate New Year. The duo went into the sea to take bath but did not return. Their friends who stayed at the beach reported the matter to the police after which fire brigade personnel and local police launched a search operation.
