Bhubaneswar: BJD MP from Puri Pinaki Mishra today urged the Ministry of Railways to allocate special funds in the coming budget for renovation and upgradation of Puri railway station to world-class standards and take measures for a rail link to Puri from Bhubaneswar with the golden quadrilateral of Konark and Satapada.
In a letter to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Mishra lamented that Puri station is still far from a world class station status which was committed by the Railways Ministry nearly a decade ago. "I earnestly urge you to sanction special funds for renovation and upgradation of Puri Railway station to world class standards in the upcoming railway budget," he stated in his letter.
The MP also demanded Bhubaneswar-Puri rail linkage with the golden quadrilateral of Konark and Satapada so that the visitors can enjoy the magnificent Konark Sun Temple, Chandrabhaga beach, Chilika Lake and Satapada.
