Jatni: The probe on the alleged irregularities in the construction of Jatni flyover should be expedited demanded Jatni Town BJD in a press meet on Thursday. The BJD has said that the Chief Minister will be asked to intervene in the matter.
Following the allegations, the State government had instructed National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela to examine the bridge. Acting on it, a 10-member team of NIT had conducted a spot visit on October 8 and begun its probe into the charges.
However, mild tension had erupted at the bridge work site when some persons claiming to be members of Jatni Traders' Federation protested the investigative team's visit. But they were opposed by councillors of the Jatni municipality so that the NIT team could conduct the probe.
"We will surely question why were the rods not installed and what work will be done regarding the construction. We are requesting all to cooperate in construction of the long-awaited over bridge and are ready for any type of enquiry ordered by the Chief Minister," said Vice President of Khurda district BJD Pramod Harichandan.
