Bhubaneswar: With the month-long winter session of the Odisha Assembly beginning from December 1, the opposition Congress and BJP are ready to take on the government on a number of issues.

“We will target the state government on a number of issues notably the Japanese Encephalitis in Malkangiri and the failure of the state government and the Centre in taking adequate measures to stop the death of tribal children whose number has crossed over 120. We will raise the issue pertaining to the false statement given by chief minister on Mahanadi issue in the State Assembly in 2010. Apart from this, our party will take up law and order situation in the state, death of tribals of Gumudumaha village in Kandhamal district due to firing by security personnel, death of tribal children of Nagaga village in Jajpur district due to malnourishment, farmers’ problem and dismal scenario of prime education,” leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra told media persons here today.
