Bhubaneswar: Anti-Maoist operations will be intensified in cut-off areas of Malkangiri and border areas of Odisha along Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as the area is under prime focus, said Border Security Force (BSF) ADG Arun Kumar today.
Talking to media persons here, Kumar said, “We are planning to fill security gaps in cut-off areas of Malkangiri and Tulsi Dongri of Chhattisgarh to cause maximum damage to the red rebels.”
Besides, he informed a border meeting would be held soon in Vishakhapatnam which will be attended by top officers of security forces.
Meanwhile, guns, explosives and live bullets were today seized from Dangteka forest during a joint search operation by Rourkela and Sambalpur police.
Sambalpur SP Sajeev Arora said, “Two .303 rifles, 484 rounds of live bullets, a hand grenade and two tiffin bombs were seized from an old hideout of Maoists in Dangteka forest after a search operation.”
Arora further stated the raid was conducted on basis of information received from two Maoists who had earlier surrendered before the police.
