Bhubaneswar: BJP top brass Amit Shah will savour 'pakhala' during his trip to the state later this month to reach out to people and strengthen the party base at grassroots level. Shah will be trying Odia dishes during his Berhampur visit. This is the formula the party had applied during the UP elections too.
The national president of the saffron party is scheduled to visit Jajpur on June22, Berhampur on 23 and Bhubaneswar on 24 to boost the workers. During his visit, he will be served traditional Odia cuisine at the houses of local people.
Under the 'Mo Booth Sabuthu Majboot' (my booth is the strongest) programme, the saffron leaders, beginning from Shah to MLAs and MPs, have started paying visits to locals' houses to reach out to them.
Recently Union minister Jual Oram also visited some tribal huts where he was found relishing ‘Pakhala’, spinach and other traditional Odia food.
"UP technique is considered as a most successful one. If Amit Shah applies the same in Odisha, it should be seriously followed," Oram said.
As per the schedule, 20,000 party activists will reach 36,000 booths within a month.
Apart from the booth level programme, the national party will conduct 'Sabka Sath Sabka Bikash' programme at 46 places to sensitise people about the welfare schemes of NDA government along with the 'Modi Fest'- a special event - to promote BJP’s initiatives.
"If the technique paid off well in UP, programmes like Modi Fest, Sabka Sath Sabka Bikash and Mo Booth Sabuthu Majbhut, would be very useful to the party", BJP MLA Pradeep Purohit said.
As part of Sabka Sath Sabka Bikash programme Union minister Venkaiah Naidu will address a gathering on June 12 at Salia Sahi slum in Bhubaneswar followed by a meeting with some intellectuals in Cuttack.
Similarly, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will hold a public meeting in Bargarh on June 15. Union minister Radha Mohan Singh, Mahesh Sharma, Ramkripal Yadav, VK Singh and Babul Supriyo were also roped in such activities in different districts.
