Cuttack: New revelation has disproved the claim of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) CEO Bidyut Nayak, who had refuted the charge of manipulating the age of his son to enable him to play under-19 matches and showed the details contained in it have been forged.
The birth certificate of Subham Nayak, son of Bidyut, issued by the Cuttack Municipality, a copy of which is in OTV's possession, has confirmed that the age of his son had been forged. Information in the certificate did not match with data on the government website.
The certificate bearing registration no 15619/2002 has the names of Subham's real parents while the same registration number on the government website (Odisha eMunicipality) has different names.
A Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) health official confirmed that the certificate is fake and not issued by the civic body. "We have provided all the registration numbers in a bid to prove that these have not been issued by us. They have collected these from elsewhere. Though the signatures matched the signatures of our health officials, these officers were not in charge during that period,” a CMC official said.
Bidyut Nayak was interrogated by the CBI yesterday in the much hyped age fudging scam. Interestingly, 20 among the 36 players currently under the CBI scanner in the age forgery case belong to Rising Students' Club owned by the son of OCA secretary Asirbad Behera.
Subham is allegedly one among the 36 young cricketers, who forged their dates of birth to play under-19 cricket matches organized by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and BCCI.
It was alleged that Subham's real date of birth was 1995 while he forged documents and submitted documents citing his year of birth as 1998 to be able to play under-19 matches.
