Ghee Adulteration: CP raids factory in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: After an adulterated ghee manufacturing unit was busted in Cuttack, Commissionerate Police on Thursday raided a factory engaged in the supply of plastic containers in Bhubaneswar.

Sources said, a team of Infocity police raided Techno Plast factory and seized few samples of ghee and other containers for tests. However, the owner claimed that their job is to primarily manufacture plastic containers as per the requirement of their clients.

However, the owner of the adulterate ghee unit in Cuttack too was purchasing plastic containers from them, said owner of Techno Plast, Amiya Mallick.

“We only supply plastic containers to various companies including Omfed. We do not supply any labels,” said Mallick.

Earlier, Manglabag police had busted the adulterated ghee manufacturing unit at Professorpara yesterday and arrested one Subhas Chandra Behera in connection with the incident.

The police team had seized labels of various brands of ghee like Omfed, Devi & Durga, packing containers and other items from the spot.
