Bhadrak: Despite campaigns on saving girl child, nothing much has changed on ground. In a shocking incident, a one-month old girl child was found abandoned on the veranda of an orphanage-Vathsalya- at Januganj near Bhadrak town last night.
The orphanage officials rescued the baby unhurt after hearing her screams at night. A bag with some baby foods, clothes, oil and infant articles was found alongside.
They rushed her to local hospital and conducted a medical examination. She was found to be doing fine. “Thank God she has not been noticed by stray dogs even after lying hours on the veranda all night”, an employee of the orphanage said.
