Aarti Steel Plant ransacked after worker's death

Athagarh: Tension prevailed on the premises of Aarati Steel Plant on Wednesday following the death of a worker undergoing treatment after being injured in an accident at the plant.

Staff of the steel plant, along with locals, ransacked and torched the security office after news of the death of the worker identified as Chandan Das spread. Prior to this, some irate locals staged a dharna in front of Gate no 1 and 2 of the plant.

Notably, two contract workers of DRI department and an engineer were injured in the accident inside the steel plant on April 7.
