8 JEs of Puri suspended over unsatisfactory progress of housing schemes

Puri: The Puri collector Arvind Agrawal has suspended 8 junior engineers (JE) of 8 blocks in the district over unsatisfactory progress of work under various housing schemes.

According to the additional project director Srikant Tarai, the collector has suspended the JEs as Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) and Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY) have not seen desirable implementation in 8 of the 11 blocks of Puri district.

Notably, Puri is ranked 18th in implementing Rural and Housing development schemes. The suspended JEs were entrusted with the responsibilities of nodal officers of the aforesaid schemes.
