Puri: Expecting congregation of more than a lakh visitors to the pilgrim town on the occasion of Snana Purnima tomorrow, the Puri district administration and police have deployed 53 platoons of force in the area.

Besides, a five-tier security arrangements has been put in place in the town to avoid any untoward situation.

DGP KB Singh himself reviewed the security arrangements in the pilgrim town.

For smooth vehicular movement and to avoid congestion, the town has been divided into four zone.

The Bada danada and connecting roads has been categorized as one zone whereas outside periphery of Puri is another zone. Vehicles coming from Bhubaneswar are being diverted from Batagaon towards different parking place identified at different parts of the town.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement over the dilapidated Samjajpur over bridge has been stopped.

Devotees coming to Sri Mandir for darshan of deities will be allowed to enter the temple through the Simha Dwara and exit through three gates.

Sources said the ritual for the Snana Yatra of the deities will begin from 4 am. The pahandi or procession will performed in between 4 am and 6 am. This is the first Snana Yatra of new idols of the deities.
