Kendrapara: A 5-year-old child lost his life after receiving faulty treatment from a quack at Tantiapal in Kendrapara district today. The deceased child has been identified as Jagatjit, son of Jagannath Rout, a resident of Basantpur village under Koilipur panchayat of the district.
As per reports, Jagatjit's family took him to a quack, Sashidhar Giri, after blisters appeared all over his body. However, the child turned serious after Giri administered him with an injection.
Jagatjit was immediately rushed to Rajnagar Community Health Centre in critical condition, where the doctor declared him dead.
Rajnagar police registered a case after receiving a written complaint and initiated a probe on the matter.
Meanwhile, villagers have demanded immediate arrest of the accused quack.
