3 killed, 5 injured in road accident

Nayagarh: Two persons were killed and five others severely injured after a car and an auto-rickshaw collided head-on at Bagara chowk in Daspalla area on NH-57 here in the wee hours on Friday.

According to information, while two occupants in the auto-rickshaw died on the spot, the five injured were initially rushed to Nayagarh hospital with the help of locals and police. Later three of them were shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar after their health condition worsened.

Police has seized the car as the driver of the car was reportedly absconding after the accident.

All the travelers in the auto-rickshaw which reportedly included five women were returning after attending a death ritual late on Thursday night.
