3 killed, 3 critical as truck turns turtle on NH-16

Khurda: Three persons were killed and three others sustained grievous injuries after a truck in which they were travelling overturned on NH-16 near Naval Chhak in Balugaon in the district here on Wednesday.

Initial reports claim that the accident took place when the driver lost control over the pipe-laden vehicle near the Naval Chhak following which it overturned, sources said.

Soon, police and fire personnel rushed to the spot.

"The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be established. Among them, three seriously injured have been taken to Bhubaneswar for treatment," said a police official.
