3 killed, 2 injured in road accident in Jajpur

Jajpur: In a tragic incident, three persons, including a woman, were killed and two others sustained serious injuries when a Tata Sumo in which they were traveling lost control and hit a truck head-on near Jarka square here in the wee hours of Friday.

All the deceased have been identified as residents of Chabispragana area in West Bengal.

According to sources, the incident took place at around 4 am today when the Tata Sumo carrying five persons in it was on its way to Bhusbaneswar from Medinipur.

The ill-fated vehicle lost control and hit a truck coming from the front causing the death of three persons on the spot. Two persons sustained serious injuries in the accident, the sources added.

The driver of the vehicle, who sustained critical injuries, has been shifted to Cuttack hospital.
