2 women die of asphyxiation in fire mishap

Angul: Two women were killed of asphyxiation after their house caught fire in Bantala Bazaar of the district in the wee hours today.

The two deceased, identified as Bimala and Ujjwala were sisters.

A kerosene lamp in the house is suspected to be the reason behind spread of the blaze in the house. All the items in the house were gutted.

Initially, neighbours saw smoke billowing out of the house and broke open the door to rescue the fire victim. In the mean time, fire personnel reached the spot after receiving information and launched a rescue operation.

The two sisters were rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared them dead.
