Berhampur: Two engineering students went missing while taking bath at Sonepur beach in Ganjam district on Monday morning. Suspected to have drowned, the ODRAF personnel have been put to service to trace their bodies.
The missing youths, identified as Pradeep Mohanty of Aska and Ajay Suasia of Dharakote were students of a Chennai-based engineering college.
Pradeep and Ajay accompanied by four other friends had gone to the beach at around 11 am on Monday to celebrate New Year. The duo went into the sea to take bath while the four others were on the beach. After some time when the two did not return, their friends suspected something wrong.
On receiving information, local police and fire brigade units launched searches to locate the missing students. However, Pradeep and Ajay could not be traced till last evening.
