1 dead, 1 injured as bike hits truck on CRP flyover in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: One person was killed while another sustained grievous injuries after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a truck on the CRP flyover here in Bhubaneswar late Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sameer Rout of Biribati area in Cuttack.

As per sources, Sameer and his friend had come to Bhubaneswar and were returning to Cuttack when he lost control over his vehicle and collided with a truck from behind.

While Sameer died on the spot, the pillion rider was rushed to SCB Medical and Hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, some locals blocked the flyover following delay in arrival of the PCR van at the spot. The mob grew more violent after they allegedly found the PCR driver drunk. "Call the driver and terminate him here," shouted the locals.

Later, the blockade was withdrawn after Nayapalli IIC reached the spot and pacified the irate people.
