Bhubaneswar: Members of the State BJP today met to review the progress of organisational works assigned by national party president Amit Shah.
As per reports, BJP national general secretary (organisation) Soudan Singh, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior leaders of the party also attended the meeting.
A decision was taken to sensitise villagers in rural Odisha about failures of the State government, said senior BJP leader Pratap Sarangi.
“We will create awareness about the failures of ruling-BJD. Besides, our party workers will inform people about the State government’s anti-poor policy, hijacking of Central schemes and opposing the Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission,” stated Sarangi.
Earlier, on July 1, BJP’s national party chief Amit Shah during his visit to Odisha, had assigned 30 tasks to different office bearers as part of the party’s Mission 120 plus. Shah had directed the panchayat heads and core committee members to form 4,000 to 5,000 booth-level committees.
The tasks included filling up of vacancies at booth level and reconnecting with old members. Each party office bearer was assigned the charge of two booths. The party activists were also asked to launch agitation over different issues in the panchayats, informed sources.
On the other hand, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra stated that the BJP is envious of the manner in which development activities are being seamlessly carried out by the ruling party.
“BJD has never done politics on development issues. We always try to ensure all-round development in the State. Much-awaited Gurupriya bridge was constructed, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana and the State food security scheme will be rolled out soon. BJP is insecure of the development activities our party is carrying out and therefore, it is spreading false propaganda,” Patra said.
