BJD MLA candidate's booth visit sparks tension in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: Violence erupted at booth no 187 at Birabhadra Nodal School under the Jagatsinghpur Assembly constituency after BJD's Kakatpur MLA candidate Tusharkanti Behera visited the booth yesterday.

As per reports, when Behera entered the polling station, a polling agent of another party opposed his entry which led to a clash between the MLA candidate's supporters and opposition party workers.

Subsequently, the MLA candidate was rescued by the BJD workers present outside the voting station.

In another incident, allegations of booth rigging surfaced at Aul block's Balakati panchayat yesterday. A video of a man casting votes multiple times had gone viral. In the video, the white 'kurta' clad man can be seen voting repeatedly at booth no 1 and 2 in Balakati panchayat.
