Sonepur: Video purportedly showing cash being distributed to voters at Jurabanda village under Tarava block under Sonepur Assembly constituency, which goes to polls tomorrow, has gone viral on social media today. As per reports, the person concerned distributing cash in video is said to be a locally active member of the ruling BJD, Manabhanjan Mishra.
The video shows cash being distributed as per a voter list and the act of money being given and received by a voter has been captured.
Asked about the cash distribution video, Manabhanjan denied the charges and said that he gave the money to a BJD agent who later paid it to a milkman.
“The charges are baseless. The person sitting beside me, as shown in the video, is the poll agent who is handing over money to a milkman. The place where we were sitting is the milkman’s house,” said Manabhanjan.
When asked why the voters’ list was kept there, Manabhanjan failed to give any satisfactory answer.
