Bhubaneswar: Registering a new record in daily COVID counts, the Smart City of Bhubaneswar reported as many as 468 new positive cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number of infected cases to 36147 in the State Capital, on Monday.
Moreover, 123 more patients have also recovered from the dreaded infection in the last 24 hours.
As informed by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the today’s total, 82 cases are from quarantine centres while 386 are from local contacts.
Following the recovery of 123 patients, the present active cases in Bhubaneswar stands at 2827.
On Sunday, Bhubaneswar had reported 338 positive cases which was considerably lower than the previous day’s tally of 451.
Earlier in the day, the one-day surge in Covid-19 cases in Odisha registered a big jump on when a total of 4,445 persons tested positive for the infection while four patients succumbed to the lethal virus in the last 24 hours.
This was the highest-single day spike in the State since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.
Meanwhile, 1503 patients recovered from COVID19 in Odisha on Monday taking the cumulative recoveries to 347637 in the State.
The district of Sundergarh witnessed the highest (352) recoveries while Khordha, Nuapada and Sambalpur registered 191, 125 and 77 recoveries.
