Cuttack: Barsha Sony Choudhury who had filed a dowry harassment case against her father-in-law and ex-minister Raghunath Mohanty and four of his family members, on Monday moved Odisha High Court seeking cancellation of bail granted to Mohanty and his son Rajashree.

Barsha’s petition which is based on an FIR at Raibania police station in Balasore against the father-son duo for influencing witnesses and giving threats to her family members, alleged that bail conditions have been violated by them.

The FIR alleged that some supporters of the Basta legislator and his son had given death threats to Barsha’s uncle Anup Chowdhury after abusing him on April 6.

The Mohantys have been granted bail in the dowry torture and domestic abuse allegations leveled by Barsha. The co-accused in the case, Raghunath’s wife Pritilata, daughter Rupashree and son-in-law Dr Suvendu Madhual have also been released on conditional bail.
