Cuttack: A day after the traders' association resolved their dispute with the district administration over three of its demands, the preparations for Bali Yatra, which is just four days ahead, is now undergoing on war footing in Cuttack.
On Friday, the traders' body had decided not to open stalls alleging the administration of changing rules frequently without prior notice. They were also demanding space for joy rides without tender process, allocation of multiple plots for single trader and opposed the mandatory permission of district collector for taking more than 4,000 square feet of plot at the fair ground.
However, the deadlock was resolved yesterday after the Cuttack administration agreed to the demands of the traders.
Meanwhile, the tent house association that had pulled several tents at the Bali Yatra ground on Saturday while extending support to the traders, have also started tying bamboos for shopping kiosks and eateries.
Notably, the Bali Yatra festival, beginning November 23, will be held for 11 days instead of seven days this year.
