Baby girl 'stolen' from Sishu Bhavan

Cuttack: In a shocking incident, a one month and half month old baby girl was allegedly stolen from Sishu Bhavan here.

The parents of the baby girl are residents of Sunakhala in Khurda district.

According to sources, the infant was brought to the government-run hospital in a serious condition in the wee hours of Thursday. But the baby was shifted to the casualty department after preliminary treatment as there was no vacancy in the ICU.

The mother of the baby went to bathroom at around 9 am. When she returned, she did not find her daughter, the sources added.

A complaint in this regard has been lodged at Lalbag police station.

Notably, tension erupted at the government-run hospital on Thursday following the death of an infant.
