Bolangir/Cuttack: After the Supreme Court’s historic judgment on the century-old Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute on Saturday, it was nothing less than a dream-come-true for two Kar Sevaks of Odisha who suffered severe injuries during protests held in the year 1992.
Recalling the day when he suffered bullet wounds in Ayodhya, Sadhu Panigrahi from Haladi village of Muribahal area in Bolangir district narrated that even though he recovered from the physical injuries a long time ago, the recent verdict healed him completely.
“I never thought that I will be able to see the Ram temple for which I shed my blood. Now I feel proud and happy about it,” said an elated Sadhu.
Similarly, Cuttack resident and Swayam Sevak, Sangram Mohapatra, who too suffered bullet injuries, expressed satisfaction over the judgement.
“The judgement was only possible due to blessings of Lord Ram. After waiting for so long, it feels great to hear that finally the temple which we have been waiting for so long will be built,” said Sangram.
The construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya is likely to start from 'Ram Navami', the occasion of Lord Ram's birth anniversary. The government aims to complete its construction before 2022, the 75th year of Indian Independence .
The Uttar Pradesh government has recently released a picture of the proposed grand temple and the huge statue of Lord Ram standing near it. Sources said the construction of the idol of Lord Ram is likely to take three years to complete.
Details are also trickling in about the planned grand temple complex. Spread over an area 240 feet long and 145 feet wide, the complex will be 141 feet in height. Its 4 feet periphery will have 251 columns. The temple complex will have a prayer hall, a Ramkatha Kunj (lecture hall), a Vaidik Pathshala (educational facility), a Sant Niwas (a residential facility for saints) and a Yatri Niwas (hostel for visitors).
Around the idol of Lord Ram, there will be other facilities such as a digital museum, a centre for description on Holy Scriptures, a library, a cafeteria and parking space.
