Angul: A man was allegedly shot dead by some bike-borne miscreants at Musapapuli chhak under Angul police limits last evening over a suspected past rivalry.
At around 8 PM on Wednesday, one Dusasana Senapati and his brother Dushmant of Rantalei village had come for some work at the Musapapuli chhak when suddenly a few miscreants arrived and fired few rounds at them before attacking them with sharp weapons. After the incident, the suspects escaped from the spot.
While Dusasana died on the spot, his brother was rushed to the district headquarters hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.
Police registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
A few days back in Sambalpur, three persons of a family were allegedly hacked to death by the neighbours in Napada village under Mahulapali Police limits following a dispute over land.
