Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court today shot notices to the Secretary and other officials of the Urban Development department seeking explanation on the legality of the Sarbakhyama Yojana, an amnesty scheme under which the government aims to regularise unauthorised buildings and establishments in urban areas across the State.
The High Court has asked the authorities to reply within 4 weeks.
Earlier on July 31, the Court had sought a clarification on the same and had reserved August 2 as the date for hearing on the issue.
The Odisha Government had announced the amnesty scheme on June 20, under which unauthorised constructions in all kinds of buildings-residential, commercial, institutional and clinical establishments falling under the jurisdiction of all nine development authorities in the State will be regularised.
