Bhubaneswar: With the annual HSC examination beginning on Friday, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has made all the necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the exams. Though initially it was believed that the Odisha bandh call by farmers might cause inconvenience, Principal Secretary of School and Mass Education department, Pradipta Mohapatra today stated that shutdown did not have any impact on the dispatch of question papers for matric exams.
Speaking to media, Mohapatra said, "The question papers reached the nodal centres yesterday and will be sent to all the examination centres tomorrow morning. As scheduled, the question papers will reach the exam centres between 6 am and 8.30 am tomorrow."
“All the preparations for the exam have been made by the respective district officers. The Odisha DGP is himself monitoring the arrangements. Even the district collectors and SPs have been directed to take necessary steps for smooth conduct of examination in all the centres," he added.
Reports said, as many as 304 nodal centres have been set up across the State to store the question papers. While 19 centres have been set up inside police stations, the rest 285 have been kept under strict surveillance.
BSE exam controller, Nihar Ranjan Mohanty also mentioned that the Odisha bandh called by the Naba Niraman Krushak Sangathan today will have no impact on the matric examination beginning Friday.
“The bandh will not have any impact on the preparations of the examination as we have sent the question-cum-answer booklets to the nodal centres. The booklets of the first examination tomorrow will reach their respective examination centres from the nodal centres between 6 am and 8.30 am,” said Mohanty.
Mohanty had earlier said that the nodal centres will be guarded by the security personnel 24X7 and the question papers will be sent to the examination centres with the help of police officials.
The officer further informed that the concerned administration has also been directed to clamp section 144 around sensitive centres, if required.
