Sonepur: Someone has rightly said that marriages are made in heaven and worked out on earth. Proving this adage, a 75-year-old man from Arda Village under Tarabha block of Sonepur district walked down the aisle with a woman (Mili-Name Changed) almost less than half his age.
As per reports, one Debarchana Mendali, aged 75 years was all alone in his life after death of his wife, a son and a daughter several years back. Though his granddaughter lived with him some time ago, but after her marriage, she too left him.
But Debarchana found his newfound love when he met Mili and quickly decided to settle down once again. Though the idea of marriage by Debarchana at the dusk of his life seemed odd to many but instead of raising eyebrows, his decision was welcomed by all and sundry.
Recently, after Debarchana tied the knot with Mili amid full fanfare, the marriage became the talk of the town.
"All my family members passed away years ago. I asked my granddaughter, if I could get married and then proceeded with the decision after her approval," Debarchana said after his marriage adding that till he is alive, he hopes to live a happy life with his newly wedded wife.
