Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: A Military Intelligence (MI) report of Army has come up with startling revelations that Lt Colonel Prasad Srikant Purohit and his outfit Abhinav Bharat not only targeted Muslims but also targeted Christians in several locations across the country including Kandhamal.

As per the MI report, Purohit, the prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast, during an interrogation in 2008 had confessed that one of his key accomplices Sameer Kulkarni had killed two persons belonging to Christian community in riot-ravaged Kandhamal in August 2008.

The Army intelligence report further added that Malegaon blast co-accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh admitted the Army officer had met her on October 5, 2008, and confessed to have orchestrated the Malegoan blast, killing of two persons in Orissa in August 2008 and arson in North Karnataka.

This apart, the network was also responsible for attacks in North Karnataka, Pune, Jabalpur and Bhopal.

This act indicated that Lt Col Purohit wanted to establish an organisation with aggressive anti-Christian stance,” the MI report said.

It may be recalled that Lt Col Purohit was arrested by Maharashtra ATS in November 2008 for alleged involvement in terror activities. Purohit happens to be the first ever Army officer to be arrested for involvement in terror activities.
