4 killed, 10 injured as picnic bus collides with truck

Angul: At least four persons were killed while 10 others injured when a picnic bus carrying them collided with a truck near Katada under Jharpara police limits in the district late last night.

As per reports, all the deceased and the injured had gone to Koraput for a picnic; while returning to Angul, at around 1 AM, the bus carrying them had a head-on collision with a truck.

While three persons died on the spot, one succumbed to injuries later. On getting information, police rushed to the spot and admitted all the injured to the Angul district headquarters hospital, said sources.

As condition of three injured persons deteriorated, they have been reportedly shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Following the accident, the driver and the helper of the truck fled the spot.
