Khurda/Baripada/Balasore: As many as four persons died and three others were injured in lightning strikes at separate places across Odisha today.
In Khurda, two persons, identified as Paramananda Mahabhoi of Sarua village and Sanjay Naik of Kunjuri village died after being struck by lightning.
Similarly, Dinesh Naik and Babita Naik of Kunjuri village and Ramesh Sethi of Pubusahi sustained grievous injuries and were rushed to the Khurda district headquarters hospital by the Fire Services personnel.
In another incident, a woman of Bijatala village of Mayurbhanj district was struck by lightning while working in her farmland. The deceased, identified as Hira Murmu succumbed on the spot.
Two other women working nearby also sustained injuries and were admitted to the hospital.
Moreover, in Balasore, another person died due to the lightning strike in Natakata village under Basta block.
