(image) Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, at least three persons were burnt alive and two others sustained severe burn injuries at Borang in Bhadrak on Saturday.

The incident took place during the wee hours on Saturday. The deceased belonging to the same family have been identified as Subhadra Das ( Mother), Guudu (10 yr daughter) Saraswati (6 yr daughter).

Two other children of Subhadra were initially admitted to Bhadrak hospital who sustained severe burn injuries. Later, they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

According to reports, Subhadra`s husband stays in Kolkata. The husband identified as Amar Das has reportedly marrried another woman there. Subhadra could have attempted suicide after receiving the news which turned fatal, police sources said.

Basing on complaint filed by Subhadra`s father, police have registered a case and begun investigation into the matter.
