Sundergarh: Three persons including two women were killed and another sustained critical injuries after the car in which they were travelling dashed into a truck from behind near Jarangaloi village under Bargaon block in Sundergarh district late last night.
The deceased have been identified as Sajjan Agarwal, Urmila Devi and Nirmala Devi. The injured, Sangeeta Agarwal was initially rushed to Sundergarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and later shifted to Rourkela Hospital after her condition deteriorated. All four of them belong to Biramitrapur area, sources said.
As per reports, the mishap took place when the four were returning home after attending a bhanjan programme of Shyambaba in Sambalpur town.
The driver of the car fled the scene after the mishap.
Later on receiving information, police reached the spot and rushed Sangeeta to the hospital. Further investigation is underway.
