Bhubaneswar: The State government today handed over appointment letters to a total of 102 candidates who successfully qualified Odisha Civil Service Examination, 2017.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed appointment letters to all the qualified candidates during a function organised by the General Administration department in Bhubaneswar.
The newly recruited civil servants comprise 42 women, 13 in SEBC category, 21 SC and the rest 22 ST candidates.
Ayushi Mahapatra, the OCSE-2017 topper who been posted as the Training Reserve Officer of Puri district, said, “My priority will be to learn as much as I can about the job during training period. Secondly, my priority would be to make myself approachable, so that people can openly come to me with their issues.”
“My focus will also be on the outreach programmes so that awareness among can be spread among the masses about the schemes launched by the Centre and State government. The benefit of the schemes should reach the last mile beneficiary,” said Mahapatra.
“Transparency, accountability and time bound service delivery are equally important. I will work towards ensuring remedial measures for the cyclone ravaged Puri district,” she added.
Lekharam Bhoi, a differently-abled candidate, who has been appointed as the Tax and Accounts Service Officer, said his priority is to make the assignment fruitful and work for the welfare of people.
The appointment letter was distributed after the newly appointed officers underwent training at the Gopabandhu Administrative Academy, Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management and Biju Patnaik State Police Academy.
