Balasore: Three days after the stampede that injured at least 30 devotees at Chadaka fair near Chandaneswar, a devotee died after coming in contact with live wires at the fair ground on Saturday. The incident occurred at a makeshift shop near the Chandaneswar temple on the concluding day of the fair.
 
The deceased was identified as Gopal Chandra Giri of Jagannathpur under Bhogarai block. He was rushed to the Jaleswarpur hospital after being injured. However, doctors declared him dead.
 
On April 11, 30 people were injured in a stampede after police barricade broke due to heavy crowd. The security system was tightened following the incident. At least 18 platoons of force were deployed at the spot and 75 social activists were pressed into service after the incident.
