Leopard Skin Seized, 1 Held In Odisha’s Boudh

In a joint crackdown by STF and Kantamal Forest Division officials, a leopard skin was seized during a raid at Purughat in Boudh district on Sunday. One person has been arrested on the charges of smuggling the wildlife product. 

Acting on an intelligence input, the joint team raided the hideout and arrested the person while he was stricking a deal to sell the wildlife product. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Over 3 Lakh Ganja Plants Wiped Out In Odisha's Malkangiri

In a major crackdown on the production and supply of illegal cannabis, Malkangiri police destroyed over 3 lakh ganja plants cultivated at several places in the district on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police headed by Chitrakonda Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) carried out multiple raids and destroyed the cannabis cultivation spread over 205 acres land in Banaguru, Pabaliguda, Raraganiguda and Sarilapaku areas under Badapadar panchayat in the district.

The police said that the raids will continue in regular intervals in the coming days.
