Similipal National Park Reopens For Tourists

The Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district reopened for the public and tourists from today.

The park was closed for tourists for an indefinite period of time due to surge in cases of Covid in May 2021. The biosphere reserve usually goes off the limits for public during the monsoon.

Tourists have to follow Covid-19 guidelines and activities in the park would be carried out in strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines in place, said park officials.

This year the authorities have implemented a blanket ban on use of plastic in the national park. Any plastic usage is strictly prohibited and only use of biodegradable & environment friendly products are encouraged, Deputy Director Similipal Tiger Reserve

This year visitors can sightsee this picturesque National Park on cycles also.
