Vigilance Seizes Rs 2.8 Lakh Illicit Cash From Cop In Odisha 

The Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday recovered Rs 2.8 lakh cash from a police sub-inspector (PSI). The cop, Sushant Sahu, is currently posted as the inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Motu police station in Malkangiri district. 
Sahu was intercepted by Odisha Vigilance at Khurdha this evening when he was travelling to his house at Phulnakhara in Cuttack. During searches, he was found carrying Rs 2.8 lakh cash (suspected to be ill-gotten money) which he could not account for satisfactorily. As per Vigilance sources, the cop was travelling in an Ertiga SUV bearing registration No ODO5AX 5629 which is registered in name of his brother-in-law Mihir Sahu. After the recovery of the cash, the Vigilance carried out searches at his house in Motu and two more locations in Cuttack. “He is being examined further in this connection,” the Vigilance said.

Two Kids Drown In Pond At Odisha's Kalahandi

A pall of gloom descended on Kuturuguda village under Biswanathpur police limits in Kalahandi district after two kids reportedly drowned while playing near a pond on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Sushant, son of one Gagan Majhi and Kusmita, daughter of one Goura in the village.

As per reports, the duo went missing while playing near the pond this morning. After a frantic search throughout the village, the locals spotted them floating in the village pond.

They were immediately rushed to Biswanathpur Community Health Centre where the doctor declared them dead on arrival.
