Vigilance Unearths Assets Over Rs 2.5 Cr From Tata Power SDO

Assets worth over Rs 2.57 crore was unearthed by the Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday during searches at multiple premises belonging to an SDO, Meter Relay Testing (MRT) of the Tata Power Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPNODL) in Keonjhar on Tuesday.
Following a tip off, five teams from the Balasore Vigilance Division, comprising 2 DSPs, 6 Inspectors and other staff, conducted raids at 5 properties of Maheswar Sethy located across Keonjhar district.
As per a statement released by the Vigilance department, two double storeyed buildings in Keonjhar district, four plots including 3 plots in Keonjhar town and 1 plot at Ghatagaon, Keonjhar, three two-wheelers, bank deposits over Rs 24.63 Lakh, insurance deposits over Rs 24 Lakh and other movable and immovable property, all totalling to over Rs 2.57 crore have been unearthed during the house searches which are still continuing.

Two Siblings Succumb To Unknown Fever Hours Apart In Odisha’s Sundergarh

In a tragic incident, two minor siblings of a family died due to an unknown fever in a span of two hours in Sundergarh district on Tuesday. The brother-sister duo aged 7 and 2 years, respectively lived with their family at School Basti near Barasuan under Lahunipada police limits. The mother of the siblings and their one-year-old brother were also reportedly suffering from the unknown fever. Bludgeoned Body Of Youth Found Inside House In Bhubaneswar

The bludgeoned body of a youth was found lying in a pool of blood inside a house at the Mandap slums in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. 

Sources said that the police have detained the wife of the deceased and questioning her to ascertain the events and circumstances leading to the man’s suspected murder.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased have leveled murder allegations against his wife.

"My sister-in-law thrashed my brother to death using a wooden log in an inebriated condition," alleged a family member of the deceased.
