Bar Sealed In Bhubaneswar For Night Curfew Norm Violation 

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday sealed a bar located in Janpath area of Bhubaneswar for allegedly violating  the Covid-19 guidelines of the State government. A team led by BMC Assistant Commissioner (Enforcement) Lilan Sahu and OSD to BMC South East Zone, Swarup Nandan Behera along with Arun Swain, IIC Kharavel Nagar police station raided the premises of the bar with the help of BMC Enforcement Squads. During the raid, the bar was found operating beyond 10 pm in violation of night curfew timings. It has been sealed indefinitely.

3 More Arrested For Illegal Conversion Of Jalasaya Land In Dhenkanal 

Police on Saturday arrested three more people in connection with illegal conversion of classification (kisam) of Jalasaya (water body) land to Sarada (agricultural land) in Dhenkanal district. Two among the arrested are staff of Dhenkanal Tehsil office. They are record keepers Dusmanta Dehuri and Soumya Ranjan Parida. The third arrestee is a woman. Yesterday, a former additional Tehsildar of Sadar Tehsil office and two others were arrested in connection with the fraud. According to sources, the kisam of about 31 decimals of Jalasaya land in Plot No 522 of Sanasthiabatia mouza was tampered and converted to Sarada land without any official order. 
Dhenkanal Collector Saroj Kumar Sethi on Friday said the Odisha Vigilance department will carry out an investigation into the case.

Odisha Reports 630 New Positive Cases, Covid-19 Recovery Tally Breaches 10 Lakh-Mark

The Covid-19 recovery tally in Odisha breached 10 lakh-mark on Friday after 689 people recuperated from the disease. With this, the Covid recovery tally in the State now stands at 10,00,548.

According to Information and Public Relations Department, Odisha reported 630 new Covid-19 cases including 116 positives from under-18 category age group in the last 24 hours taking the positive tally in the State to 1015713. 

Of the new cases, 368 cases have been detected from quarantine while 262 are local contact cases. 

The active cases have come down to 7020.

On the other hand, eight more persons succumbed to the virus taking the death toll to 8,092 in Odisha.
