Famous oncologist & Associate Prof at Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital, Dr Sanjay Panda passes away on Tuesday. In a fresh development in connection with the on-going police action against the self-styled ‘Guruji’ of controversy-ridden ‘Manababad Sangathan’, Manas Das, the Khordha Police carried out a sudden raid at his residence in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Informing the development, Khordha SDPO Sushil Mishra said, "We are probing Das' Manababad Sangathan to collect detailed information. We are inquiring if the organisation is registered or not."
Further, Mishra stated that the team has found a few photographs and banners related to the organisation at Das’ Bhubaneswar residence.
Das, a self-styled ‘Guruji’, was arrested on September 2. He has been charged with the abduction and murder of one Satyabrata Nayak. Moreover, he has also been charged with serious crimes like issuing life threats, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.
Das and his son Manoranjan, who was also arrested, were had been to the Khordha sub-jail following their production before the Khordha Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court on Thursday.
